Fabiocchi Farmhouse, among the most known restaurants in the province of Teramo, has the priviledge to be located in a natural frame so striking that offers unforgettable, fairy panoramas. The surrounding one is indeed a territory that we could almost define "wild" and that still reserves a lot to be discovered.
Amazing abruzzese city, Teramo is the ideal destination for who loves nature, with the Gran Sasso mountain chain and the Laga range on one side and one of the most striking coastal stretches in Italy on the other side. The city rises in a wide valley at the confluence of the Tordino and the Vezzola rivers, in the same place of the ancient Interamnia, Roman colony. In the same area it has been built the Medieval city, that can be still visibile in the curvy streets, the porches and the ruins of the ancient city walls. It has been the Middle Age, the best time lived by the city, despite the harsh fights between the local families and the foreign Signoria, at first that one of the Anjou and then of the Aragon.
Amazing is also the historical city center, rich in small churches and narrow streets. Here rises the Cathedral, built in the XII century in a typical Medieval style. Compound by two churches from different eras, the Cathedral preserves the famous golden silver antependium by Nicola da Guardiagrele, also known as "the Antependium of Teramo" (1433-1448), that with its thirty-five tiles talks about the life of Jesus.
Worthy are also the Roman amphitheater and the close theater, next to the Cathedral, that dated back to the Imperial age.
Among the historical churches that worth a visit there are the Church of Saint Domenico (XIV century) with frescos from 1600; the ancient Cathedral of Saint Anna, that hosts the ruins of a Roman domus and frescos that dated back to the XII and XIV centuries; the Sanctuary of the Madonna delle Grazie, with a wood group of the Holy Mary with the Child, by Silvestro dell'Aquila.
To be visited also the Delfico palace (1700), the Episcopal palace, the Archeological Museum and the Art Gallery, that are hosted in a NeoClassical building in the striking scenario of the gardens of the Villa Comunale.
Abruzzo is a land that has been inhabited since ancient times: indeed, due to the special shape of its territory, it has always been a synonymous of a fertile land, suitable to all the needs of all who, during the centuries, have lived here.
Nothing lacks to the Abruzzo: today, in few hours by car, it is possible to easily go from the coasts to the mountains. Our Region has the priviledge to host the highest mountain of the Appennines, the Gran Sasso.
In Abruzzo it is possible to enjoy the beach and, at the same time, the mountain. Featured by a mild climate, Abruzzo is the right choice for your holidays, all year long.
